About Coach Stef Rae

Hi! I’m Coach Stef Rae. I am an elementary school teacher turned CrossFit Coach and personal trainer that specializes in helping functional fitness athletes master their gymnastics skills.

I started CrossFit twelve years ago and pretty quickly saw improvements in my strength and conditioning. But, like a lot of people, the improvements in my gymnastics skill and volume was a lot slower. I was often frustrated by how few pull ups or toes-to-bar I could string together, and each year when the Open rolled around, I hoped that I could magically get a muscle up after spending little to no time working on them in my group CrossFit classes.

I realized that in order to see progress in gymnastics, I had to devote time outside of class to develop strength, perfect body shapes, and work on a variation of drills. I am uniquely attuned to the needs and frustrations of beginner and intermediate CrossFitters because I have been there, gone through the process, and have gained hard-earned and high-level gymnastics skills myself - and none of it came easy.

I have been coaching CrossFit for ten years, am a CF-L2 trainer, and have spent hundreds of hours working 1-1 with clients to help them achieve their gymnastics goals. I’ve facilitated a number of firsts - muscle ups, handstands, butterfly pull ups, and bigger and more efficient sets of toes-to-bar, pull ups, chest-to-bar, and handstand push ups. But what drives me goes way beyond the individual skills. My mission is to help my clients feel more confident and capable in their bodies and to set and achieve goals they once thought themselves incapable of. I’m here to help you redefine your limits and provide a clear path to your goals.
